The City of San Diego’s Earned Sick Leave and Minimum Wage Ordinance, San Diego Municipal Code Chapter 3, Article 9, Division 1, became effective on July 11, 2016. It is applicable to employees who perform at least two (2) hours of work within the geographic boundaries of San Diego.

SMARTS Farm will relocate to a larger lot just a few blocks away at 1326 Broadway. The move will afford SMARTS Farm room to grow into a more spacious 16,000 square-foot property, while continuing to help transform an emerging downtown neighborhood along the way.

The East Village Association, as part of the "Do The Ride Thing" campaign, has launched a six-month pilot program to generate awareness about pre-paid parking cards. The parking cards are similar to gift cards. They work in the City of San Diego’s electronic parking meters and Port of San Diego parking meters. The cards are sold in two increments, $10 and $45.
