During the EVA annual meeting, car2go was awarded the 2013 East Village BID Business of the Year. Car2go began operations in East Village San Diego in November 2011. Car2go is a groundbreaking mobility program redefining transportation. A wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, this sustainable, car sharing program allows its members to use the all-electric Smart car for as long as they like without committing to a specific return time or location within their Home Area.

The City of San Diego is replacing a 102-year-old deteriorating water pipeline on F Street, between 17th Street and Park Boulevard. Construction work is taking place near the State Route 94 off ramp on to F Street. This work requires lane closures on State Route 94 to help reroute incoming traffic around the construction work. Because of the impacts to State Route 94, work will take place Sunday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Join Girls Think Tank at their upcoming Rock and Roll-themed fundraiser on Saturday, May 11th from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Museum of Man at 1350 El Prado in Balboa Park. Get there early for the VIP hour from 6 to 7 p.m. with special guests KPBS' Dwane Brown and San Diego’s First Lady Bronwyn Ingram. All proceeds go to benefit Girls Think Tank's programs to help the homeless in San Diego.

The City of San Diego is conducting emergency work to replace a 102-year-old, deteriorating water pipeline on F Street, between 17th Street and Park Boulevard. Due to the age of the water main pipe, the City of San Diego does not know how long this project will last. Please allow for extra time when commuting to East Village, as F Street will be down to one lane.
