Urban Park breaks ground in East Village… Again.
Quartyard returns to East Village less than 500 feet from it's original location with plans to open to the public early 2018.
Earlier this year, Quartyard closed its doors to the original location to make way for a large commercial real estate project. After long discussions with the city of San Diego, Quartyard has begun construction and will remain in the dynamic East Village neighborhood. Quartyard will continue to play host to all of the amenities the community has come to love; including a dog run, beer garden & full bar, canteen eatery, event venue, rotating art wall, and cafe.
After two years of operation, Quartyard, continues to serve as a model for cities across the U.S. looking for unique economic development ideas and ways to reinvent blighted lots while improving quality of life for their residents.
The Official groundbreaking ceremony for the new venue will take place on Wednesday, November 1st from 11am-1pm. The gathering will featured speeches from key community leaders, music, coffee, snacks, and a good ole shovel ceremony.
Additionally, Quartyard is curating a community brick entrance that is available for supporters to have their message permanently inscribed at the venue. You can personalize your brick today at QuartyardSD.com.

Quartyard is the brainchild of a group of students from NewSchool of Architect + design. It begun with the vision of utilizing city owned land to turn into an activated community space. Since then, Quartyard has been host to thousands of guests.
