New Chef Joins Stella Public House & Halcyon
Welcome Executive Chef Jade Griego to the restaurant duo in East Village
Stella Public House and Halcyon (1429 Island Avenue), each known for its farm-to-table driven dining experiences in East Village, welcome Chef Jade Griego to lead the helm in San Diego. As Executive Chef, Griego will lead the menu design and execution for both concepts, giving him the creative bandwidth to explore cooking techniques unique to each brand: Stella Public House’s woodfired oven continuing to turn out San Diego’s best Neapolitan-styled pizzas as well as evolving the unique skillet brunch items and Halcyon’s expansive offerings gourmet café offerings serving guests from 6 am breakfast to late night bites.
Griego has been an executive chef for over 10 years and has honed his talents across the United States. Griego’s cool and hip vibe combined with his love for craft beer comes together nicely to create delicious dishes daily and for special events. He has become known for bringing craveable cuisine to iconic San Diego destinations like Barbarella’s and PrepKitchen.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Griego opened two Hyde Park Prime restaurants and one was voted best steakhouse in Columbus seven years in a row. He worked closely with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants to remodel their Martini Italian Bistro with a re-concept and new menu which garnered him a four star rating. Subsequent to the remodel, Griego developed a gluten-free menu gaining national certification.
With Faultline Park’s first summer open in San Diego, Halcyon and Stella Public House invite locals and visitors to come enjoy the best patio in San Diego looking onto the park’s 1.3 acres of green grass and architecturally-inspired landscaping. Bring the kids to run around on the playground and interactive art installations all visible from the back patios.
