Mr. B Baby (2023)

Raised in Chula Vista near the U.S.–Mexico border, Michelle "Mr. B Baby" Guerrero’s work is influenced by her Mexican and Puerto Rican heritage and the cultural duality of border life. Growing up in a Spanish-speaking household, she was immersed in traditions and symbolism that shape her artistic voice. Her signature character, Chucho, a piñata-inspired figure whose cracks bloom into flowers, symbolizes resilience, growth, and transformation. Blending Mexican folk art, Caribbean vibrancy, and contemporary placemaking, her murals turn public spaces into culturally meaningful landmarks.

This piece was created for Quartyard in the heart of East Village, contributing to the neighborhood’s eclectic and vibrant arts scene.
