2024 SDPL Short Story Contest

Welcome to the San Diego Public Library's 7th annual short story contest, sponsored by the Friends of San Diego Central Library. The SDPL Short Story Contest is a continuation of the support provided by the library to local writing, organized in order to shine a spotlight on local short story authors, and is part of the Local Author Program.

We will begin accepting submissions on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. We will only accept 100 stories - submissions will close once we receive the 100th story.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on May 21, 2024.
