San Diego Gives is a year-round program that promotes nonprofit sustainability and donor education. In 2023, efforts culminate in an online, region-wide Day of Giving September 7, followed by a Day of Volunteer Service on September 8.
Words Alive is hosting a Day of Volunteer Service in the East Village on September 8 to support the mission of opening opportunities for life success by inspiring a commitment to reading. Volunteers will be helping to construct learning kits with the use of new books, craft materials and school supplies. These learning kits are distributed through Words Alive's Read Aloud Program, Adolescent Book Group, and Family Literacy Program.
