2025 marks the 100th anniversary of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, widely considered one of the most important works in American literature. So, how did this tale of sordid love affairs, rich criminals, and shocking killings go from failure to classic? Join us to celebrate the Gatsby centennial with a public presentation by Palomar College English professor Adam Meehan, who will talk about why the book is as American as apple pie and remains one of the most assigned books in American classrooms.
